Germany: Baja 300

This weekend i drove all the way to Leipzig to race the Baja 300 aboard my Husaberg FE 570cc. It was incredible to have people asking me so much about the Dakar, and felt really happy to see how many people followed me in my adventure!!! Fortunately the weather was good throughout the weekend and the number of riders was over 200!!!

Day 1 i started in 210th position and was quickly moving up until on one junction there was a big road book mistake made by the organization, over 90% of the competitors were running around in all direction and the situation was pretty dangerous (i filmed everything with my go pro). 180 riders ended up missing the check point which was positioned in the opposite direction of where the road book sent you! On the 2nd lap i even stopped to some guys of the organization (also filmed with the go pro) and they told me there was no checkpoint in that zone and sent me all the way back to the start, i went up and down for 45 minutes! They even called the headquarters and told me that there was no CP2!!! A real mess and 90% of the riders extremely disappointed. I went with other riders at the end of the day to the organization with the road book error and even with the full film i made with the go pro but there was no way, they wouldn’t even listen and they ruined the race for 180 riders (just 20 riders managed to get casually the CP2). Without the penalty i would of won.

Day 2 i was very pissed and right from the start i pushed and since the day before there were 6 Check Points at the end of lap 1 i started looking for CP6 and lost about 20 minutes because there was no CP6 on day 2! From then on i started riding smooth and fast catching up plenty of riders and ending winning the day overall! Without the unjust 3 hours penalty i got i would of won the Baja with 10 minutes lead. I am very happy on how my pace was and how my Husaberg FE 570cc was running. Its a real shame when organizers make such big errors and spoil a race for over 90% of the competitors because the track was awesome, the bivouac perfect and fun, the riders were here from many different countries and for not wanting to admit their road book mistake they disappointed most of us. I had to wait after midnight to see the results on friday and on saturday they exposed them after the prize giving! Unacceptable!

Here some photos and i will upload as soon as possible the video of the road book error and over 60 riders running in every direction creating an extremely dangerous situation and then a video of day 2 where everything was good and everyone had loads of fun.
