Just 3 days left to the Rallye du Maroc organized by Npo. It feels like Dakar is already here, all the top teams Ktm, Honda HRC, Husqvarna Speedbrain, Yamaha, Bordone Ferrari and Sherco are on their way to Marocco for the final test. This rally will make us understand how well the riders and teams have been working throughout the year and by the end of the rally we will have a clear idea on who to watch out for in South America in January. This will be the first time we will see the full Honda HRC Team racing with the new bike and an incredible comeback of Johnny Campbell who will be racing again on bikes after last year’s experience in Dakar as co-driver for Robby Gordon. All the top riders will be there so the battle will be on between Cyril Despres, Marc Coma and Helder Rodrigues but also Joan Barreda and Jordi Viladoms could have a chance of winning since the very positive season they have just gone through.
Last but not least David Casteu could surprise us all with some stage wins, unfortunately since he will be racing the first 2 days the Baja he won’t be able to be in the mix for the final rally results.
Here the Official Entry List (I will be in Marocco during the weekend to catch photos and news so stay tuned):

Other riders to keep tracked will be Chaleco Lopez, Jakub Przygonski, Frans Verhoeven, Alessandro Botturi, Sam Sunderland, Olivier Pain, Felipe Zanol, David Fretigne, Juan Pedrero and Alain Duclos. Interesting to see will be also the australian rider Matt Fish that apparently has been entered as part of the Speedbrain team, a very good chance for him to show his talent. Strangely the Bordone Ferrari team is still on Ktm’s and missing Gerard Farres and Paolo Ceci. I personally had planned on racing but since my Dakar budget is still to be covered and things are still undefined for 2013 i prefer to stop, get things sorted and then get back to try my best to step up in order to be able to compete with these guys.
