Last friday Yamaha Italy presented the new 2013 Yamaha Motocross and Enduro bikes to the media organizing a test day at the RB Park in Novara. I was there as the official tester of the Tv Channel AutomotoTv and the magazine Endurista. I spent the entire day hopping from a bike to the other getting to test these bikes:
Yamaha YZE 125 cc
Yamaha WR 450cc
Yamaha YZF 450cc
Yamaha YZF 450cc Factory
The bike i enjoyed most was the YZF 450cc Factory because obviously had top performance, great suspensions and one of the things i appreciated most was the GET traction control because on the handlebar i also had a button through which i could make the bike more or less aggressive thanks to 9 different positions. I must say that also the standard version of the 450cc was awesome and if i had any money it would be the first bike i would buy because even in stock configuration its a bike with which you can go directly racing. The track in which i tested these bikes was very similar to a Supercross one, i managed to get all the triple jumps done with both bikes even if it was something like 6 months i wasn’t riding any motocross. This last aspect gives a good indication on how easy the bike is to ride.
Speaking of the enduro version i was thrilled to ride the YZE 125cc, the track in which i tested it was very twisty with artificial obstacles such as tree trunks. The 125 is not only incredibly fun to ride but is also in my opinion the bike that really teaches you how to ride fast. As soon as you make the rev’s go down you have to start pulling on the clutch, if for example you are in a very steep and long uphill if you get a wrong gear you end up having a hard life so on the YZE 125 you can’t make mistakes. Last but not least the WR 450cc did not suit too well the extremely twisty track, it felt as if it was missing a little of low end power whereas the top end was good.
The Test i made will be on air on Monday 17th December on the channel AutomotoTv at 12:30, instead the test of the YZE 125cc will be on the next issue of the magazine Endurista. Here some shots of the day:
