Husaberg Dakar Tanks Preview

Another preview! After the great 5° position in the World Championship, i will have once again the technical support from Safari Tanks and today i just received the tanks that i will use for the 2012 Dakar. For who doesn’t know Safari Tanks, they are a company based in Australia specialized on obviously fuel tanks and they have products for Gas Gas, Yamaha, Suzuki, Ktm, Honda, Bmw, Husaberg, Husqvarna and TM bikes.

The front tank is the same 16lt model as the one i used throughout the 2011 season, extremely resistant and quick to mount and dismount (fundamental for the Dakar).

I made you wait a little and now i show you the real news! This is the brand new unseen rear 15Litres Husaberg tank! It looks very similar to the 10lt one but this has a bigger capacity on the exhaust pipe side where the standard exhaust has to be dismounted and changed with a low pipe one. Now that i have the tanks i will mount them on and go out to search for someone to sponsor me by modelling a low pipe exhaust. Furthermore i will get the graphics kit made to suit the new tank by Onboard Racing and then when everything is done go test everything on motocross tracks.

Mounted on the bike it looks good and when i will get the full graphics kit from Onboard racing it will look even better!


As you can see the this tank fills up the exhaust pipe space gaining 5 extra litres from the 10 litres rear tank.

A low pipe will have to be mounted on the bike and on the tank there are 4 holes in order to then fix the exhaust support on the tank.

The bike remains pretty slim andd you would never think it has 15 litres on the back.

    Complimenti per la tua moto.
    Manuel, ho anche usare un Rally Husaberg 450FE in Brasile, e ho bisogno di un serbatoio pari al suo posteriore.
    Mi misi in contatto con Safari e Carole mi ha detto che ci vogliono 3-4 settimane per prepararsi, e il metodo di spedizione dall’Australia al Brasile, prendere un altro mese.
    Credo di no è arrivato in tempo per le “Sertões” qui in Brasile.
    Saresti interessato a vendere il vostro carro armato?
